The work of 1.54 km (excluding the HMT stretch of 600 m and the NAD stretch of 560 m) was completed in 2022 at a cost of ₹24 Crores. However, the project could not be completed earlier as the HMT and NAD lands were yet to be obtained.
Now, the HMT and NAD lands have been handed over to RBDCK Ltd.
RBDCK had requested the Government of Kerala for Administrative Sanction for an amount of ₹49,57,61,616.07/- (₹32,26,93,115/- for NAD land and ₹17,30,68,501.07/- for balance road construction). The Government of Kerala granted Administrative Sanction on 15.05.2025 for an amount of ₹32,26,00,000/- for NAD land. Subsequently, RBDCK requested the Government for Revised Administrative Sanction on 03.10.2025. Vide G.O. (Rt) No. 5/2026/PWD dated 03.01.2026, the Government accorded Administrative Sanction for an amount of ₹21,40,52,415/-.
Accordingly, Technical Sanction for ₹20,33,49,793.32 was accorded on 16.01.2026.
Tender for the balance work was invited on 12.02.2026. However, only one bidder participated, and hence the tender was re-invited on 17.02.2026.The technical bids were opened on 03.03.2026, and three bids were received. After technical evaluation, two bidders were found qualified, while one bidder was rejected due to inability to meet the minimum qualification criteria. The financial bids were opened on 10.03.2026. The L1 bidder quoted an amount higher than the admissible amount; therefore, negotiation was requested with the L1 bidder on 16.03.2026. |
